Holiday season and festivities are all about gifts, parties and lots and lots of sweet treats. While it is quite okay to put on a few pounds during this time but, you should really not let those late night parties and sweet treats affect your dental health. If you eat more sugars throughout your holidays, the acids in your mouth will increase making you vulnerable to cavities. So, given below are some tips to help prevent cavities while enjoying the holiday season to the fullest. Read on:
  1. No to the Hard Candies – Choose to skip those hard candies that you need to suck on for long this actually means that sugar is going to sit in your mouth for long. So avoid them and cut down on your risk of cavities.
  2. Do not skip your routine Hygiene – No matter how badly ehausted you are or how late you chose to reach home after partying hard, never miss to brush your teeth before hitting the bed. You routine hygiene becomes more important during holiday time since you’re eating more sugars than usual.
  3. Drink enough Water – While its just not possible to brush your teeth every time after eating and drinking, drink enough water to get rid of the food particles that are stuck onto your teeth. Whenever possible, try to replace sugary drinks with water.
Once you’re back to your normal schedule, choose to visit your dental specialist for regular checkups specially if you have undergone some treatment procedures like Braces in Santa Clara or Braces in Palmdale.
